Mary and I went on 6 major trips this year including a month in Spain and nearly a month in Iceland. We kept over, 3,000 images from those trips. I could not get down to my top ten, so I have included 14 of my favorite images, and not surprisingly, 10 are from Iceland.

As most of you know, I try to make a few photos every month of the moon rise and moon set. Here is my favorite moon set photo from this year made in my front yard in Oro Valley, AZ on 1/14/2025 at 7:50 AM.

Though we were in Spain for a month, it was not a photography trip, but a hiking tour and a culture and culinary tour. Here is my favorite image from that trip.

Hendaye, Spain

We spent a week in Sedona hiking and eating. We enjoyed a moon rise over Cathedral Rock.

We went to Oregon to photograph the Cascades, but we were about a month too early as most of the roads were still closed, covered in snow. We made a day trip to Smith Rock and I captured the iconic shot of the valley.

We spent most of September in Iceland touring the Westfjords and the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

  1. Love your photos Peter (and Mary). Thanks so much for doing all the work to take and share them with everyone as I don’t think Dave and I will make it to some of your destinations!

  2. Búðakirkja is my favorite, I like the angle of the green to the church. Hope you are well Peter, miss seeing you.
