Aerial Photography: Shooting skylines

In my last post I shared some of my infrared abstracts.  I also found it quite interesting to photograph the skylines as the plane was descending.

I tried to photograph throughout the landing to see what was more compelling in infrared.  I found that when the plane was almost horizontal to the skyline I liked the images better.  It is definitely a unique vantage point that you can’t get very often (unless you are a frequent commuter to a particular city).  Pictured are the Atlanta and Phoenix skylines.  During post I preferred creating panoramas to further emphasize the skyline and its horizontal nature.
