Sunrise at Boulder Beach is probably the second most popular location and time at Acadia after sunset at Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Being a sunrise location you will usually have less people there, but if they are there for sunrise they will be serious photographers.

We photographed Boulder Beach twice and the days could not have been more different. One day was dark and cloudy and dreary with crashing waves on the beach.

The next day was a clearer day with a beautiful sunrise and calm seas. Both days were good days, just in different ways.
