We will be in Maine and New Hampshire the month of October with Mark and Cat photographing Fall color, the coast, light houses, lakes, etc.
It all started with flying in and eventually out of Boston. Our first night was in York. It was a short stay to break up the drive to Rangeley, but York also has an outstanding lighthouse, the Nubble Lighthouse.
It was an overcast day with some drizzle, so our trip there was just a scouting opportunity as we will see it again in a couple of weeks. I know this is obvious, but let me say it again. The omnipresence of Instagram and Facebook and TripAdvisor, and, and, and, has caused small beautiful places to be overrun. The parking lot at Nubble Light has maybe ten spots and there were at lest double that many cars circling and people milling about to get their selfie.

Unfortunately, it looks like there is some restoration going on so there were a lot of construction people near the lighthouse.
Here is a fun mid-morning reflection shot that we ended up teaching a few people watching us who wondered what we were doing.
Next, we were off to one of my favorite Maine light houses, Portland Head Light. We were last here in 2016. Oh boy, what a change in the last ten years. There are nearly 100 paid parking spaces, now. There is new fencing that keeps people away from the cliffs, and it was crowded.

The photo I made ten years ago is impossible to make now.

I think this will be a theme of this trip as we revisit locations we saw ten years ago and see how much they have changed.
Off to Rangeley.
