Photographing the Tumacacori Mission near Tucson, AZ

Mary and I love visiting and photographing old missions.  We have photographed all 21 of the CA Missions.  When we were in Tucson in December, we made the 50 mile trek down to the Tumacacori National Historic Park.  Here is what you will see.

We really liked this mission because it is not just a church, but also the remains of a small village and compound.  It has a nice little shop and museum.  Plan to spend 30-90 minutes here depending on how much photography you want to do.

Make sure when you are down here to visit the artist community at Tubac and eat mole sauce at Elvira’s.  We thought it was the best Mexican food we have ever had.

Like many old missions, there is a graveyard on site
