What a great exercise to look back at a year’s worth of images, re-live the moments when I pushed the shutter, and reflect on the variety of experiences I had. Every year when Peter asks me (or rather forces me) to do this, I always think “I didn’t really shoot much this year that would make my top 10”. When I had gathered 25 images and was still adding I realized that I rarely left home with out a camera (or two) in hand. I think maybe I will post a top 10 iPhone photos of the year too!
I’ve been meaning to dive back into a new Project 52 but have been having difficulty getting organized. 2016 showed me that by just mixing up my photography style and subjects I could still explore the variations of the art form. Some of my favorites this year were of family – but I thought that might be too reminiscent of torturing invited guests with the old slide projector, so I decided to focus on other subjects for this list. I also reflected on how many of the images that made this list were taken on dedicated photography trips; when its just me (and Peter) and my camera on the itinerary with nothing else planned except seeing a particular part of the world through my lens.
So here they are, my top “10” (actually 14) favorite images of 206.

Amazing pictures. All together!
