I’ve had a Lensbaby for a few years. I pull it out, take a few pictures, get extremely frustrated and put it away for awhile. I’ve been searching for a new project to help spark a creativity streak. Peter suggested a Lensbaby photo a day for 100 days.
I have all my Lensbaby stuff out, I’m ready to go. I thought I would start slowly by learning about how to use the equipment, looking at other photographers’ images, reading a couple of books, and test driving the lens before jumping in. I started while I was in the UK, looked at my images and got frustrated again. Why on earth did I get the lamp post in focus and not the people? The only one I liked was the abstract of the boats – and that was probably because I increased the aperture so that more of the image was sharp.
So here we go. I’ve put it out there now. I’m going to do it. One Lensbaby photo a day for …. well….let’s start slowly….30 days. I welcome others to join me in the challenge. Let’s see if I can’t finally figure out how to conquer this thing.
I shall be following your product with interest… I fancy getting a lensbaby but am not sure which one… which one are you using?
I love the colours of the street shots and cup on the bench – if I am honest the right hand side looks like a giant smudge … think I need to learn about them too 🙂
Hi Helen – I am using the Lensbaby Composer with the Edge optic. I appreciate your honesty, focus and the amount of blur are the two areas I struggle most when using this lens. I’d love to hear how you’re doing and if you surface any tips…..
