(Last weekend, I forgot to publish this blog. That broke my streak of publishing a weekend blog – every week for 152 weeks. Darn it. Anyway, enjoy. Thanks)
When Mary and I were in Napa a few weeks back, I woke up late and as I started walking to the gym, I saw this unusual and beautiful cloud formation. It was a bit windy, so I knew I did not have much time. I grabbed my gear and ran out of the hotel to find a foreground. Here is what happened:
B Cellars is across the street from our hotel, so I knew I could get grape vines as a foreground with the sun behind me. As we had driven by B Cellars a half dozen times, I had also noticed the interesting fountain in front of the winery tasting room.
Now it was all about composition. B Cellars is on the Silverado Trail which is not as busy as CA HWY 29, but it was busy nonetheless. I set up my tripod on the side of the road and captured a few photos.
It was a bit bright so I also used my infrared camera. The black and whites were processed in Nik Silver Effects Pro 2 and the color images were processed in Nik Color Effects Pro and Viveza. I think I like black and white #1 and color #2.
Which ones do you like better?
