In our immediate area, we are spoiled with two great gardens – The Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino and the Descanso Gardens in La Canada. Though we have been to the Huntington Gardens more than 50 times, we have only been to Descanso once. And what a great experience it was.
Descanso is built on the side of a hill, so there is a lot of up and down walking, but can easily been seen in a two hour visit. Here is a link to their website.
Look for reflections in the many small pounds.
We always bring our macro lenses to gardens to shoot flower close-ups.

Look for interesting light.
In the shade we found some large ferns and Mary got in close.

What beautiful colours, nice shot…
Thanks. Appreciate the comment.
Reflection is stunning. Good seeing! Whenever you come east, make sure you get to Longwood Gardens and Chanticleer Gardens outside of Philadelphia and, of course, NYBG in “da” Bronx, NY!
Longwood has been on my list for a long time! I used to travel out there for business, before I got into photography…….I’m regretting never visiting….
Thanks for the other recommendations.
If you’re ever in the NY metro area, give me a shout out via email. I’d enjoy meeting you at New York Botanical Gardens.
I would love that – thank you for the offer!
