Today we moved at the same speed as a desert tortoise….maybe a bit slower.
We had a lot of catching up to do, and a birthday celebration to commence. We started with a birthday cinnamon bun (perhaps the start of a new tradition?), then moved onto a three course lunch. You may be wondering where Peter chose to celebrate his auspicious day….the Fish Company. The same restaurant we went to for our first Icelandic meal. I guess he couldn’t get the Gourmet Feast menu option out of his head. He typically celebrates his birthday with a lamb dinner, so today he declared he had the best lamb in his life. He does really love Icelandic lamb. He also had reindeer carpaccio – a first. And the waitperson brought him a complimentary glass of Sauternes with dessert to cap off the meal.

After all of that, we needed to walk. We walked up and down the streets of the downtown area. It’s a very walkable, comfortable place to explore with a mixture of high-end design focused stores, and typical tourist stores. I always enjoy the people watching.

I’ve spent the last few days talking about all of the animals we have seen. Since I have spent the day downloading and editing images from my “big camera”, I thought I would share a few. It was an action packed week.
