Panoramic of lily pads in bloom

I remember when I got my first APS film camera, it had this great setting for panoramic images (it was really just a thin slice of a normal size frame), I went to Europe for the first time, and that was all I shot.  Every once in awhile I rediscover that thrill…..

It usually happens when I am frustrated trying to frame a shot; I can’t get close enough to fill the frame with the subject, there are too many other competing elements in the frame, or there is “subject confusion” – its just not clear what captured my attention in the first place.

I will often frame with a panorama in mind when I am in a familiar place and looking for a creative alternative.  I then create them in post processing by cropping to a typical panoramic size.  Peter creates true panoramics of grand landscapes – maybe with a little nudging we can get him to share his technique here.
