Every year Peter asks me to put my picks together, every year I think “there is no way I have 10”, every year I have more than 10 and then have to go through the agonizing process of culling down to just 10. This year I realized part of the reason its so hard for me, are the memories, experiences, and associations I have with my photos. You may look at them and think “meh”, for me there is always a story that makes it much more. Bill Fortney says there are two reasons to make a photo: 1) to share with someone else 2) to keep for yourself. Most of my 2015 photos I made for myself; it was a year of struggle to find my vision, challenge to find the time, and a search for the creative tsunami that just never seemed to roll in.
So here they are in no particular order. Peter, please note that I adhered to your top 10 request, and did not squirt the “guidelines” by including honorable mentions. The gauntlet has been thrown for your 2016 picks.
